Timmy Thomas (1944-2022) cantor, compositor e produtor musical norte-americano recem-falecido, destacou-se por seu sucesso mundial “Why Can’t We Live Together”, lançado em 1972, no ambiente da guerra do Vietnã. Seu apelo à paz e convivência fraterna entre comunidades e povos tem sido interpretada e gravada desde então por grandes artistas através de gerações.
Passados 50 anos, o grito daquela canção ecoa sob o espectro da guerra, do racismo, naufrágio de emigrantes, fome e exclusão social.
